Principal's Message
Principal

Mrs. Valenzuela
Dear Students and Parents,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Sierra Vista Middle School! Whether you are returning to campus or joining us for the first time, I warmly welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year. I am honored to join this incredible learning community and look forward to the journey ahead.
As we embark on this new school year together, I’m thrilled to launch our school-wide theme: “Unlock Your Legend.” This theme invites every student to reflect on who they are, embrace new challenges, and uncover the greatness that lies within. Each of us holds a key—one that can open doors to personal growth, leadership, and new opportunities.
At Sierra Vista, we believe every student has the power to make a meaningful impact—not only through academics, but also by showing character, creativity, and compassion. “Unlock Your Legend” is more than a slogan; it’s our shared commitment to helping students grow into confident, capable individuals who are ready to take on the future.
This year, we’re working to expand our elective options and after-school programs so that all students can find meaningful ways to connect with their interests and our school community. From robotics to music, leadership to sports, there are so many ways for students to explore their passions and shine.
We’re also excited to amplify student voice—creating spaces for students to lead, share their ideas, and shape the culture of our school. When students feel heard, supported, and empowered, they take ownership of their learning and rise to their full potential.
Just as important, we remain deeply committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all. We understand that middle school is a time of discovery, change, and growth—and our team is here to support every student socially, emotionally, and academically. At Sierra Vista, every student matters, and every student belongs.
A great first step toward a strong year is reviewing our student handbook together. It outlines the expectations and systems that help us all thrive in a respectful, positive school culture. When students and families are informed and involved, we create the conditions for success.
I am so proud to serve this vibrant community and can’t wait to meet you, learn alongside you, and grow together. Let’s make this a legendary year—where every student finds their voice, unlocks their potential, and takes bold steps toward the future.
With Viking pride,
Erika Valenzuela
Proud Principal of Sierra Vista Middle School
